Patchy Foundation? There’s a Reason It’s Happening (and a Way Around It)

If your foundation is going patchy by lunchtime, it’s not always about the product — it’s how you’re putting it on. The usual suspects (too much skincare, not enough blending, wrong brush) all have their part to play, but the actual fix is surprisingly simple: load your brush first. Not your face.

Instead of dotting product straight onto your skin and hoping for the best, try pressing it into your brush first. Back of the hand, light swirl, then apply. It gives you more control, more blend, and fewer surprises when you look in the mirror an hour later.

It also means you’ll probably end up using less than you think. The brush does the work, the product doesn’t sit on top of your skin, and you’re not left wondering why your concealer is clinging to dry patches you didn’t know you had.

Try it once, and you won’t go back.
